Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 victories have been won on hard courts

A comeback the Russian player won his first championship for 882 days with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The Russian, a ex- world number one, has endured a difficult season, achieving just one match at the major tournaments and suffering a meltdown at the American major.

His varied form on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serving in especial - caused him exiting of the world's top 10 and eventually parting ways with long-term coach his previous coach.

Currently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has steadily advanced in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought competitive triumph over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks the player's maiden title after the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt after March of 2023.

Victory also means Medvedev has won twenty-one titles at 21 different events.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a competition with my two daughters at once, so to secure a championship is particularly special," said ranked player Medvedev.

"This victory is in honour of my child Victoria, because the maiden victory I got when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had failed in his last six finals, including in the German tournament in the past months.

His counter-punching approach and recurring outbursts on the tennis court had caused observers to wonder if his skill to play at the elite level was concluded.

Yet the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, striving to come to the net and play aggressively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.

Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging Frenchman, taking four of the last five exchanges to go ahead.

Both players swapped breaks in the following set before the challenger, bidding for his initial tour victory, gained dominance to create a final set.

The opponent rescued four early-game opportunities in a tight final set before the champion broke to fifteen to secure the win.

Suitably, Medvedev secured victory with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to control a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
